Trust & Safety

This page is maintained by [BookHotelia legal entity — TBD] to answer common safety and trust questions about BookHotelia. Effective date: 18/07/2026.

What BookHotelia is — and is not

BookHotelia is a direct-booking directory. We publish listings of hotels, villas, apartments and other accommodations so guests can contact each property directly through its own official channels.

  • BookHotelia is not the property owner or operator.
  • BookHotelia is not a payment processor and never collects payments for stays.
  • BookHotelia is not a party to any booking contract between guest and property.
  • Prices, availability, taxes, house rules and cancellation policies are set and controlled by each property.

Verification

A "Verified contact" badge means that a property's contact email has been confirmed as working, so guests can reach the property directly. It is not a certification of the property's legal status, licences, quality, safety, or ownership.

BookHotelia does not currently offer independent property-ownership verification. Guests should always confirm identity, terms and prices on the property's own official website or verified email before sending money.

Guest safety principles

  • Do not pay anyone through BookHotelia. We never request payment for stays. Any request to pay BookHotelia is fraudulent — please report it.
  • Confirm every important detail (price, dates, refund policy, cancellation, address, taxes) directly with the property before paying.
  • Prefer paying through methods that offer buyer protection, and keep written records.
  • If a listing looks suspicious, out of date, or the property is unresponsive, report it to us at abuse@bookhotelia.com.

Property owner responsibilities

Listing on BookHotelia is free. Owners are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of everything they publish, including:

  • Correct property name, address, capacity, amenities and photos they hold rights to.
  • Legal permissions to operate short-term or hospitality rentals in their jurisdiction.
  • Compliance with local tax, tourism registration, safety and consumer-protection laws.
  • Accurate contact details, prices, availability and cancellation policies.
  • Handling guest data received via BookHotelia in line with applicable privacy laws.

Reporting a problem

To report a suspicious listing, misleading information, safety concern, copyright issue, or a request to remove a listing you own, contact us at abuse@bookhotelia.com. Security researchers can reach us at security@bookhotelia.com. Please include the listing URL, the nature of the concern, and any evidence you can share.

We aim to review reports promptly. We may temporarily hide, edit, or remove a listing while a report is investigated. Removal decisions are made by BookHotelia's team.
